We are open to applications from those who have already achieved their Instructor certifications, or those who've not yet started the process of becoming a qualified instructor - we offer an excellent training and shadowing programme which is tailored to each successful applicant.

It’s important to acknowledge that we only take the very best teachers first and foremost, as this has the biggest impact on the students’ experience. We look for candidates with strong empathy for others and a desire to help other people become the best they can be, as well as candidates keen continue to learn themselves, developing their own riding and teaching skills as part of our close-knit team.

Please do note, that as we are the BMW Motorrad UK partner programme, we can only offer positions and training to those resident in the UK and holding a full UK motorcycle licence for 3 years.

At BMW Rider Training we are looking for motivated and talented individuals to join our existing BMW Instructor Team, with positions available across the UK including at our Royston 'central' Training Centre.
Our class-leading facilities offer an environment for exceptional training to be delivered and we aspire to uphold the highest standards in our delivery of training.

We are looking for self-motivated and driven individuals who can confidently work independently on their own initiative, as well as closely as part of our team. We look for the following qualities in prospective candidates;

➼ A strong background in motorcycling; able to ride to a minimum of an advanced level.
➼ Teaching and development skills; with a keen interest in unlocking peoples' potential, to allow their dreams to be fulfilled.
➼ Critical thinking skills; and ability to analyse student performance sensitively, in order to identify student development needs.
➼ Strong self-awareness and empathy; Emotional intelligence is key to relating to any student, to get the best out of any training need, as well as forming a close fit with the existing Instructor team.
➼ Flexible teaching style; to ensure best fit for the customer, with both their rider development and their test success as balanced outcomes.
➼ Self-confidence; ability to uphold the centre standards whilst still delivering accurate feedback. Ability to control dynamic situations, and to influence and arbitrate appropriately.
➼ Exemplary planning and Timekeeping skills; with training sessions well planned and executed in a timely manner, including prompt start, delivery and finish times.
➼ Responsible; able to reliably deliver learners for test on time at the required venues, and able to offer a positive and confident manner when dealing with critical incidents.
➼ Team player, mindful of shared resources; ability to work within a training team to divide resources and time appropriately, as well as restoring facilities/resources to their normal high standards on completion of your training day, in preparation for the next student or session.
➼ Strong interest in personal development; welcoming of audit and assessment by mentor team, as well as feedback from students, to facilitate continual improvement in your role as a teacher and a rider.

Essential Role Requirements:

1. DVSA CBT 1 Qualification (Qualified / already working towards it / prepared to undertake training)
2. DVSA DAS Instructor Qualification (Qualified / already working towards it / prepared to undertake training)
3. Holder of an Advanced Riding Qualification, and ability to demonstrate this to the highest standards
4. Strong Communication Skills
5. Excellent understanding of the subject matter and training techniques.
6. Mechanical aptitude for basic maintenance and emergency repairs.

In addition to the key requirements detailed above, it is advantageous for candidates to hold qualifications from the following list;

• RoSPA Diploma
• RoSPA Tutor
• IAM National Observer/Observer
• RoSPA Gold
• IAM First
• IAM Masters
• Blue Light Trained
• First Aid/Biker Down Trained
• Formal adult teaching or training qualifications (any sector)
• Experience of Teaching
• Experience of Training, Coaching and mentoring, vocational training, or practical skills training
• Neurodiversity Experience
• Transferable skills from other sectors.
